How To Wrap A Gift Box with Reusable Gift Wrap
This simple folding method is one of the easiest ways to wrap your gift with no tape and no ribbon.
This method works best when using a wrap that is approximately 4 times the width of the item you are wrapping. In this tutorial, we wrapped a 6” gift box using our 27” wrap.
The wrap shown is our ‘Blue Blossoms’ gift wrap, which you can find here.
1.
Place the item in the center of the wrap with the print side down. Position the item so that the sides face the corner of the wrap.
2.
Fold one corner towards the item as shown and repeat on the opposite side.
3.
Bring the folded sides over the top of the item.
4.
Repeat on the other side so that the item is completely covered.
You can adjust the size of the folds in step 2 as needed depending on the size of the object you are wrapping.
5.
Pinch the other two sides of the wrap as shown. This will make them easier to fold and will form the “handles” of the wrap.
6.
With one hand holding the top of the item in place, bring one handle of the wrap over the top.
7.
Repeat on the other side.
8.
Twist the handles around each other to form the beginning of a knot. Bring handle #1 to the side of the item, as shown.
Next, bring handle #2 over the center of the item so that it is pointing down. Twist handle #2 underneath handle #1, pulling it to the right side.
9.
Secure the bow and admire your lovely gift!
Keep in mind that this method gets easier with practice. If steps 8-9 are tricky, you can try using a larger gift wrap for your item. You can also stop at step 7 and fasten the gift with a ribbon if preferred.
